The Turks and Caicos Islands are a British overseas territory that are a popular destination for beach weddings!

The tropical weather and gorgeous beaches are what attract visitors from all around the world.

The Turks and Caicos Islands consist of 40 islands and cays and only 8 of them are inhabited.

Why Get Married In The Turks And Caicos?

The islands are located south of the Bahamas and to the east of Cuba in the Atlantic Ocean. Many couples from the U.S. choose here for their wedding because the official language is English and the official currency is the U.S. Dollar. So they can have their wedding in paradise but the planning is easier than most other far away islands!

A Turks and Caicos beach wedding is sure to be beautiful and special. There are also plenty of things to do for your wedding guests. Each island offers a different experience and there is a lot to explore during your time here!

What to Know:

  • If you’re looking for an elegant wedding on a historic island consider Grand Turk. For a more well-known location with plenty of activities, Providenciales is a good choice. If you’re looking for a more secluded and romantic spot, then the islands of North and Middle Caicos might be a better option!
  • The average temperature in the summer months is 85-90 degrees and from November – May it’s around 80-84 degrees. So if you’re planning a Turks and Caicos beach wedding you won’t have to worry about having warm weather! The trade winds also provide a nice breeze all year round.
  • Turks & Caicos is located within the hurricane belt, so if you’re planning something as important as a wedding, it’s best to avoid traveling here between June 1 and November 30th.

What is it Known For?

The islands of Turks and Caicos are known for having stunning white sandy beaches with clear turquoise water. Each island is known for something different. For example, Middle Caicos is known for having the biggest cave network in the Caribbean, South Caicos is known for its fishing and Grand Turk and Salt Cay offer some of the best scuba diving.

Most of the islands are only about 10 to 25 minutes by air from the popular island of Providenciales and most can be reached by boat as well. There are also ferries from North to Middle Caicos that offer rides regularly. Turks and Caicos Islands are also known for their luxury accommodations. If you have a higher budget, consider staying at one of the privately owned islands, such as Parrot Cay.

When is the Best Time to Get Married in The Turks & Caicos?

Since the weather is nice all year round with high temperatures and mostly sunshine, you can really choose whenever is best for you to get married on the islands. However, there are some months that have more perks than others.

Due to the risk of bad tropical storms, it’s best not to plan your Turks & Caicos beach wedding for the months of June through November. Even if there aren’t any hurricane hits, it’s still rainy season for the islands and you won’t want to stress over the weather. You would have to have an indoor backup option and there could be flight delays or cancellations.

Peak tourist season is December – March. This is when most people travel to get out of the cold or to celebrate the holidays. Although it’s a great time to be on the islands because it’s dry season, it also means that there will be more crowds and prices for flights and accommodations will skyrocket.

If you have a big budget or if you plan months in advance, then December – March may be possible for you. However, the absolute best months to get married in Turks and Caicos are April and May. This is when you’ll experience amazing weather without the crowds and high price tags.
