bonaire-marine-parkSince Bonaire is such a small island, only 24 miles long, wedding guests have the entire island to explore while they are visiting for your wedding.

There are plenty of activities and attractions in Bonaire and there is something to do for everyone!

When having a destination wedding, it’s always nice to let wedding guests know what the best group activities are in the area.

Since everyone will be from out-of-town, they’ll appreciate the recommendations when they have free time.

Bonaire Marine Park

Bonaire Marine Park is said to be the top attraction in all of Bonaire, which makes it a must see! It’s a pretty easy place to find since it consists of the water that surrounds the entire island. It’s an amazing location for scuba diving and snorkeling, as you’ll see all sorts of marine life.

Some of what you’ll see on your dives include turtles, fish, octopus, seahorses, coral reefs and more. It’s rare to not see something breathtaking! While you’re in Bonaire, you definitely have to get in the water and do some exploring.

For wedding guests that don’t love the water or if they are even afraid, they’ll like to know that it’s very rare to see a shark off the coast of Bonaire! This might get some of those guests in the water to see everything the island has to offer.

One of the most popular spots for scuba diving and snorkeling is Klein Bonaire. It’s surrounded by beautiful reefs! It’s an uninhabited island, so take and food and drinks that you’ll want with you on your trip. You can take a water taxi or boat to get to this special spot!

Donkey Sanctuary

For Bermuda wedding groups that are looking for something unique to do, they might want to check out the Donkey Sanctuary! The donkeys are friendly and come right up to your vehicle. It’s a very affordable activity that people of all ages will enjoy.

Windsurfing

A popular pastime in Bonaire is windsurfing, so your wedding guests have to give it a try when they’re on the island! One of the top places to windsurf is Jibe City on Sorboran Beach. The water is shallow, calm and clear. There’s also a bar on the beach which is great for drinks or a meal!

If you’re a beginner or have never windsurfed before, you can take a lesson. For those that are more experienced, they can enjoy some free-surfing. For those that aren’t interested in trying it, they can sit on the beach, relax and enjoy the view! It’s a fun time for the whole group.

Butterfly Garden

The Butterfly Garden is located in Kralendijk and it’s a great place to see some beautiful butterflies and enjoy a nice meal. It’s a very relaxing and peaceful activity that gets you out of the sun for a little bit!

Aletta’s Goat Farm

Aletta’s Goat Farm is another popular attraction in Bonaire. Aletta will take you on a tour of her farm and you may even see the feeding and milking process. The Dutch farmer makes homemade goat cheese! You will enjoy tasting her products after touring the farm and learning all about it.

Aletta’s Goat Farm is hard to find, so call before you go and ask for directions. Everyone who visits the farm is glad they did. It’s something different to do while you’re on the island!

Horseback Riding

If wedding groups want to go horseback riding while they’re in Bonaire, they’ll love The Riding Academy Club in Kralendijk. The club offers a half day ride for groups of 2-5 people. On your ride you’ll visit the Pekelmeer, known for its flamingos and Lac Bay Beach where you’ll have a “horse-and-rider swim”.

Horseback riding on the beach and in the water is something on a lot of people’s bucket lists. Bonaire is the perfect place to try it! Even if you’ve never rode a horse before, you’ll enjoy the ride. You’ll love the scenery and you definitely want to bring your camera.

While in Bonaire you may get lucky and see flamingos while you’re exploring the island. To have the best chance of spotting some, visit Lake Gotomeer! Even if there aren’t flamingos when you go, you’ll enjoy the views and maybe even a beautiful sunset. It’s a very romantic place on the island!

Bonaire is heaven on earth. It’s a wonderful choice for a destination wedding because you and your guests will have the time of your lives.
