Although getting a Bermuda marriage license may be a slightly longer process than other destinations, it’s still an easy one.
You just have to be aware of the laws and be prepared!
About 2-3 months before your wedding date you’ll want to file a “Notice of Intended Marriage” form with the Bermuda Registrar General and send in the necessary fee with it.
If you or your fiance is divorced or widowed, you’ll have to show the divorce decree or the death certificate. No blood tests or residency is required.
The “Notice of Intended Marriage” is then published in two Bermuda newspapers. If nobody objects to the marriage, the Registrar General will issue you your marriage license 15 days later. This license will be valid for 3 months.
Once you have your marriage license you can get married wherever you want to in Bermuda! You can have a romantic ceremony on the beach or tie the knot on a yacht. Your marriage on the island will definitely be a memorable one!
Since legal marriage requirements in Bermuda may change over time, you’re advised to check the official government website for exact details. You can find this up to date information here.
