Ponce: Group Activities For Wedding Guests

Caja de Muertos

One of the most popular attractions is Caja de Muertos, which is a nature reserve just off the coast. On this tiny island you’ll find a lighthouse, cave, hiking trails and gorgeous beaches. There’s also a marked underwater snorkel trail!

The only way to get to this island is by boat, so if it’s something you’re interested in you’ll want to make a reservation. Find out how many wedding guests want to go and call as far in advance as possible!

Hacienda Buena Vista

If you’re wedding guests are looking for an educational activity or a break from the beach, they’ll enjoy Hacienda Buena Vista, which is a coffee plantation. There’s a lot of history to learn from the guide as well as a beautiful scenery to see. Make a reservation because it’s a popular attraction!

Puerto Rico is known for their coffee, so why not go to a plantation and see how its made? You’ll see the original machinery that is used too. Sometimes they have additional exhibits, and you’ll learn about things such as chocolate or corn.

Sightseeing

Ponce also has many historical museums that are worth seeing. If your wedding guests are into history, there are a few places that they will want to check out. Two of the most popular are Museum of Puerto Rico Music and Museo de Arte de Ponce. Experience both Puerto Rican music and art!

Some additional sightseeing attractions in Ponce are Plaza de las Delicias, Cathedral of our Lady of Guadeloupe, Teatro La Perla and El Museo Castillo Serralles.

Plaza de las Delicias is a main square that has vendors and shops. It’s where you will find King’s, which is famous for their delicious hand made ice cream! The plaza is also where you will see many of the historic buildings in Ponce.

The Cathedral of our Lady of Guadeloupe is a 17th century cathedral that can’t be missed in Ponce. It’s located in Plaza de las Delicias and has beautiful stained glass. Right next to it is Parque de Bombas, which is a colorful old fire station.

Parque de Bombas is something you can’t miss when you’re walking by because of how colorful it is. It’s part of Ponce history! It’s said to be one of Puerto Rico’s most noticeable buildings. It provides a perfect backdrop for a photo!

Teatro La Perla is where you can enjoy a show or performance! It’s located close to the plaza and is a fun activity for groups. Going to an event in a different country is always unique and interesting.

El Museo Castillo Serralles is a beautiful castle on a hill. It used to be the home of a rum and sugar cane noble. Inside you’ll find a stunning patio, fountains and gardens. You can take a guided tour inside and learn about all of the history. The view from this castle is truly incredible!

Even though you think of relaxing on the beach when you think of Puerto Rico, sometimes you need a break from the sun. These are some of the best places to visit on those breaks! They’re also great choices if you have some unfortunate weather.

La Guancha

La Guancha is a fun boardwalk for the wedding group to hang out at. There are a ton of vendors selling everything from jewelry to handbags and cigars. It’s a great place for buying souvenirs for yourself, family and friends!

There are also multiple bars and casual restaurants right along the boardwalk. There are usually locals playing music, so you get to experience the Puerto Rican culture first hand! La Guancha is romantic and also family friendly all at the same time.

For an amazing view of Ponce, check out Cruz del Vigia. You can climb a 100-foot observation tower for great sights of the mountains and Caribbean sea. Bring your cameras to remember the view forever!
