California
This state has the largest number of wineries in the USA. Almost half of the wineries are situated all across the state. Unlike other states, you’ll have no trouble finding a vineyard for your wedding in California.
In addition to the always popular California Sonoma county, there are several distinct regions where wines are made. They are North coast, Central Coast, South Coast, Sierra Foothills, and the Central Valley.
New York
Finger Lakes, and Eastern Long Island are where many of the wineries can be found in New York State.
Both these areas provide a gorgeous setting upon which you can plan your wedding.
The Finger Lakes region has the historic charm of small villages nestled among waterways, and Eastern Long Island provides sophistication and convenience for many brides that want to marry close to home.
Oregon
There are over 300 wineries in Oregon and many of them have the outdoor space to accommodate large weddings in this beautiful state. Willamette Valley, located in the Northwestern part of the state, has the largest concentration of wineries in the state and is your best bet for finding a location for a romantic wedding. The beautiful mountain backdrop along with warm dry summers make outdoor events truly memorable.
Pennsylvania
With approximately 14,000 acres of grapes, this state ranks 7th in the production of wine. From Rose Bank Winery in eastern Pennsylvania to Penn Shore Vineyards along Lake Erie, you will find over 140 wineries here, mostly family owned. In looking for a place to get married, we would suggest you take any of the 11 wine trails available in this state so you can get a better sampling of the kinds of places that Pennsylvania offers.
Texas
With over 220 wineries and over 3000 acres of Vineyards, this state provides a ton of choices from which to select a wedding location. With over 70 wineries in Hill Country to the West Texas region (1200 acres of vineyards), this state provides a great selection of family owned venues with picturesque backdrops.
Virginia
Wine Enthusiast just named Virginia one of the top 10 wine travel destinations for 2012, adding to a growing list of awards and accolades. There are over 200 wineries interspersed from the northern Virginia region to the Appalachian mountain area. With over 20 wine trails, this state provides some beautiful scenery, and gorgeous venues to host your winery wedding.
Washington
Although relatively new to wine (around 25 years), this state has quickly catapulted into a leading wine making region. With over 40,000 acres of grapes, and over 700 wineries, you will have a lot choice among which to select a wedding location. While not every one of the wineries offers a wedding venue, many of the larger ones do.
Michigan
Interspersed among the 90+ wineries in Michigan, you will find many wineries that can host some beautiful weddings. Chateau Chantal, located in Traverse City, offers gorgeous scenery along with an expanded tasting room for guests. In addition, they also have accommodations on site so wedding guests will not have to travel back and forth to the reception site.
