If you’re visiting Rincon for a destination wedding, there’s one activity that needs to be on your to do list and that is surfing.
Rincon is known around the world for it’s surfing, so it won’t be difficult to find a place that provides lessons.
It’s a great group activity and will provide some laughs if it’s your first time!
Surfing
Some of the most popular surfing companies that will help you get up on the board are Surf Lessons Puerto Rico & Adventure Company and Boarding House Surf School. If you’re ever going to go surfing, you should go in Rincon!
Surf Lessons Puerto Rico & Adventure Company provides lessons for those of all skill levels. The level of difficulty is from easy to moderate! They’ll teach you proper etiquette, how to catch a wave and how to stand up.
Boarding House Surf School is located in Barrio Puntos, an area in Rincon. The lesson includes 2 1/2 hours and board rental. If you have a large group they will provide you with multiple instructors. There are many great restaurants nearby so you can grab a bite to eat after the lesson!
Horseback Riding
If you’re interested in going horseback riding while you’re in Rincon, Pintos “R” Us is one of the top recommended places. They offer two hour guided tours right along the beach. They have horses for all riding levels!
While on your horse, you’ll ride by Rincon’s lighthouse and whale watching park. You’ll even go onto cliffs overlooking the Spanish wall for stunning views of the ocean! For this tour, you can have a group of up to 12 people. Ask around and see which wedding guests want to go on this activity!
El Faro Park
If you visit El Faro Park, keep an eye out for humpback whales! The winter is the best time for this. The beautiful and scenic park has vendors as well as a lighthouse. It’s a romantic spot to take a stroll, watch local surfers, or take pictures of the incredible views. There’s also a bar nearby where you can stop for a refreshing drink!
Snorkeling
If you’re interested in going snorkeling, Tres Palmas Marine Reserve is a great spot for it. It’s said to have beautiful aquatic life and orange coral. You can rent equipment and it’s a safe place for all ages!
Desecheo Island is another great snorkel site right off the coast of Rincon. In the clear blue water you’ll see incredible reef and plenty of fish!
Fishing
Deep sea fishing is a nice activity for a group and it’s especially popular in Rincon. Fish flock to the healthy waters right off the coast and you’re likely to catch some mahi mahi, tuna, marlin, snapper and more. You will have fishing luck all year round!
For a typical deep sea fishing excursion you want to plan for about 4 hours. Although it’s a more expensive activity, if you get 3-4 friends to charter the boat with you, it’s an affordable option. Bring some drinks and snacks on the boat and have an enjoyable day with friends!
Diving
Another popular activity in Rincon is diving because of how wonderful the water is there. You’ll be able to swim side by side with tropical fish! There are multiple shops renting out diving equipment, so you shouldn’t have any trouble finding this excursion.
Nightlife
In Rincon, happy hour starts in the late afternoon and outdoor bars are great places to watch the sunset. Calypso’s Tropical Bar stays open until the last guest leaves! A few other popular places for your wedding guests to check out are Rock Bottom, Tamboo Tavern, Rum Shack and The Spot at Black Eagle.
