With the million other things you have to do to get ready for your destination wedding, the last thing on your mind is creating an agenda for guests. And yet this is the first thing guests look for when they arrive.
Not having one would leave guests without a sense of direction. Remember that your destination wedding guests are in unfamiliar surroundings so they won’t know where to eat, when to meet, and where to go. Instead, you’ll have guests calling you and your family members to find out what they should be doing.
Save yourself a lot of hassle and create an agenda that guests can refer to when they are at the wedding. Doing so will give guests some much needed direction and will save you a ton of lost time on your wedding weekend. Just make sure that you have the agenda ready a month ahead of the actual wedding.
Why a month?
Because it gives guests a chance to prepare for any group activities that you may have planned. For example, if you are planning on zip lining, then guests may want to consider bringing some appropriate shorts, and sneakers. So create one quickly and make sure you email it to every guest.
In fact, if you have the time, we would include a list of great restaurants, activities and entertainment within a half hour of the hotel where you blocked rooms for wedding guests. Doing so saves guests the time to research and it also gives everyone a common set of things that they can choose from.
So how do you create an agenda
Simply list the dates, and times of each event along with meal times. Make sure to include:
- Time to relax
- Time for social gatherings (by the pool etc.)
- Time for activities (zip lining, scuba diving, jeep safari etc.)
- Time for eating
- Transportation schedules
- And the schedule of the wedding events
