St. George’s Parish, Bermuda: Planning Group Activities for Wedding Guests

It has the best of both worlds because guests can go sightseeing in the historic town of St. George and also enjoy the beaches and water sports on the coast.

If you are having your destination wedding in St. George’s Parish then you will want to provide wedding guests with local attractions and activities.

Some guests will want to sunbathe on the sand for most of their time on the island, however, other guests will want to explore.

Sightseeing

For Belize wedding groups that enjoy sightseeing or learning more about the island, there are a few places in St. George that they’ll want to check out. One of the top historical sites in the area is Fort St. Catherine.

Fort St. Catherine is now a museum and has many interesting exhibits. One of the best features of this fort are the beautiful views at the top! There are also old cannons that you’ll see. It’s very affordable and a great spot for pictures.

Another site wedding guests may want to see is St. Peter’s Church. Some couples even have their wedding ceremony in the beautiful church! It has nice Bermuda cedar woodwork. They also have a service every Sunday.

On Wednesdays there is a free walking tour in King’s Square of St. George. There is also some entertainment afterwards that you’ll find weekdays at noon! The Town Crier puts on a show that is sure to make guests laugh. People get dunked in water and its interactive.

King’s Square, which is in the center of St. George’s Parish, is also a great place for Bermuda wedding guests to just walk around and shop. There’s a visitor center where you can get maps and information. It’s a nice place to start your day!

For history lovers, they’ll enjoy visiting the Bermuda National Trust Museum. It’s all about the island’s involvement during the American Civil War. There’s a video, exhibits and artifacts!

A few more popular sightseeing attractions are Tucker House Museum, St. George’s Historical Society Museum, Gates Fort, Old Rectory and Featherbed Alley Printery.

Tobacco Bay Beach

Tobacco Bay Beach is one of Bermuda’s most popular beaches. There’s a snack bar and also places where you can do water sports. The bay is usually warm and calm, which is great for swimming and there are lots of fish which makes for great snorkeling!

The only negative part about Tobacco Bay Beach is that since it’s so nice, it’s usually crowded, especially when there are cruise ships docked. However, for Bermuda wedding groups that enjoy sunbathing this is a nice spot in St. George’s Parish.

Lover’s Lake

If you’re in Bermuda to celebrate love, why not take a visit to Lover’s Lake! It’s a beautiful nature reserve where wedding guests can take a walk or enjoy a nice picnic.

Nightlife

St. George is a quieter part of the island and doesn’t have many clubs or nightly entertainment. However, they do have sports bars and places to go for cocktails. The White Horse Pub and Restaurant is a recommended option!

This restaurant has live music every Tuesday night. They play outside until 3am! They also have plenty of TVs for the guys to catch their favorite games and happy hour specials every day. They also have a new nightclub called Light.

The Parish of St. George has a lot to offer wedding guests. There are so many different activities and attractions for them to choose from! There will also be plenty to do right at the resort or hotel they’re staying at.

For any wedding it’s always nice to provide wedding guests with welcome bags at the hotel and in that bag you can include a map of the area.
